“Nigeria premature babies can now stay alive,” said Dr Chinny Obinwanne, the Medical Director for the Milk Bank Nigeria. She added that it would be great if parents in Nigeria gave donor milk, especially to premature babies and for mothers to voluntarily donate their milk, as well as for other stakeholders to join in and aid the organisation in distributing pasteurised breast milk to the regions all around the nation.

This year’s World Breastfeeding Week is being observed around the globe, and The Milk Booster breastfeeding company has expressed concerns about the need to consistently educate the public and support parents so that all infants in Nigeria can receive breast milk.

The Milk Booster team, led by Dr. Chinny Obinwanne-Ezewike, has consistently offered accessible breastfeeding and motherhood support through the production of healthy lactation products, free breastfeeding resources, and free and paid lactation consultations, live events, and ongoing breastfeeding awareness on significant social media platforms.

Chief executive officer (CEO) and founder of The Milk Booster Breastfeeding Company, Dr. Chinenye Obinwanne-Ezewike, has urged mothers of newborns to give babies breast milk in order to make enormous progress in child survival and reduce neonatal mortality rate.

Speaking at the unveiling of MilkBank Nigeria in Lagos, Obinwanne –Ezewike said it was for this reason she decided to invest in donor breast milk, adding that mother’s within her community constantly sought breast milk for premature babies.

Medical Doctor and lactation consultant, Chinny Obinwanne-Ezewike, has said it is cheaper to invest in breastfeeding, which helps especially pre term, low birth weight, and vulnerable babies adding that yearly, Nigeria looses billions of naira to illnesses that arise.

The Milk Booster Breastfeeding Company, a company focused on improving breast milk supply for nursing mothers to ensure that every baby is well nourished, has launched Breast milk bank in a bid to reduce neonatal mortality rate.

Speaking at the launch in Lagos, last Friday, Obinwanne said the initiative was necessitated by the constant requests made to her organisation for breast milk for premature babies.
